His Naval career and the discipline it entailed, allowed Gregory Bonacci to focus on his passion for photography through 35mm and later, Medium formats. While sailing around the world he captured many rare images, which were way beyond the scope or comprehension of most people's imaginations.
Greg studied the photographic techniques of Philippe Halsman and Yousuf Karsh, but had an affinity for Mr. Halsman's styles. By adding his own unique skills Greg produced amazing photographs and accumulated substantial catalogues.
After military life, Greg's resume began to grow through several business opportunities. It began with residential construction then on to property management. After his second marriage he bought into a small open bed heavy haul national transport fleet (6 trucks) which proved to be quite profitable. During this same time Greg met up with another closet IT professional, posing as a truck driver, and together developed one of the first profitable online Load Boards. Though the financial success was rewarding he grew further away from his passion, photography.
In 2005 Greg threw caution to the wind, took a fresh look at photography in the digital world and prospered within the field of IT. He earned an Associates Degree in the Applied Sciences of IT, plus multiple technical certifications. His new visual approaches and coding techniques to various web elements gave him high recognition from friends and associates through CIW and the MIT community.
Today, Greg continues with his photography and displays his works throughout various galleries. He is optimistic for the future, but in reminiscing on his past he realizes it has been quite an adventure!
